CHALLA is one of those guilty pleasure books that are well written, enjoyable, and full of alien romance. When I read the synopsis for this story I wasn't too thrilled. I don't like my heroines in cages and put on display. But I enjoyed the other stories and wanted to continue. The circus situation wasn't what I thought it was. Challa was given freedom to run at night and move about the circus as any of the other performers. She wasn't always caged and held. She was restricted but not enslaved.This is the 4th book in the series, focusing on Challa, how she survived on her own on Earth, her life experiences, and her meeting Compton, her mate. She is the youngest at 20 and hasn't the depth of knowledge as the rest of her species. She was born and raised on a slave ship, in slavery. She, out of all the others, doesn't have any survival skills.
In CHALLA we learn more about the Arra, the race that has captured and enslaved Challa's people. We see how a town can pull together, how 'the secret' of the aliens is spreading -- As they are accepted and valued as members of this small community. There is hope for Challa that the Arra do have weaknesses and can be fought.
I kept expecting someone to produce fake ID's for Challa, Tiron, Simon, and Jeb. At least Thom suggesting it! But no, it's never mentioned.
If a continuing story is written, which I hope happens, it needs a different viewpoint. Maybe Lawson, the Circus Ring Master and owner gets involved. . . Or something with the Arra . . . . Or another life form escapes onto the planet. . . Or some change up. The standard alien / human meet, greet, and mate is good but this is the 4th book. If a 5th book is out there, it needs a shake up.

This author and this series is fast becoming one of my favorite. I enjoy the way she writes and the writing flows. I really enjoy that she is also a fellow Texan. ENJOY
New aliens good
This was another great book in the series. I can't wait to read more books now. Down with the Arra.
Loved it!! The instant attraction they felt. The strength that type of love has. It was an amazing love story.
I really like this series. I like that the author ties in the other couples so you can find out how they are faring. can't wait for the next book.
I liked that hero was a disabled soldier with an artificial leg. He felt his life was over, then he found love with someone who didn't care about his disability. Great romance and adventure. Would strongly recommend it.
I haven't even finished it, I put it down a few weeks ago at 41% and haven't picked it up again. The rest of the series is great, 4 to 5 stars, but this one isn't holding my interest because of the misunderstandings and they aren't getting their act together yet. Hard to put my finger on, just not my favorite.
